Surveillance War: the EU bars London from surveilling the British

The European Court of Human Rights has blocked the new law on surveillance, which would have been adopted by the UK.

Total surveillance

The law requires companies that provide mobile services and internet connections, to record all conversations, all messages and lists of visited websites each user in the last 12 months. The document caused outrage by human rights activists and internet users. However, the leadership of the country indicates that this is the only way to ensure the safety of the population in conditions of the growing terrorist threat.

Parting shots

Formally, the UK is still a part of the European Union, and therefore the country has to follow the decisions of the Brussels agencies, until the BREXIT process is finally completed. Most likely, this decision is a form of revenge of the Brussels bureaucracy which in its waning days tries to harm London for its decision to leave the EU structure.
