The French center-right chooses its candidate

 Francois Fillon has won in the second round of the primaries, as was expected. Therefore, he will compete for the presidency in the 2017 elections.

Significance

For the first time, the primaries are universal. To participate in them, it was enough to put a symbolic signature signifying a voter’s consent that he shares the views of the coalition. Before, only registered party members could vote in the primaries.

This was likely done because of the unpopularity of the opponents from the socialist organizations. Many analysts think that the next president of France will be the candidate chosen in these primaries. The candidate of the National Front, Marine Le Pen, will most likely be faced with attempts at preventing her victory. Meanwhile, the Socialists have the support of less than 10% of the vote. 

Victory in the primaries

In the first round of the presidential race, former president of France Nicolas Sarkozy dropped out. In the second round, he called on his supporters to vote for their former Prime Minister Francois Fillon, who gained the most votes.

Francois Fillon is well-known as the most loyal candidate to Moscow, hence why Russia prefers him from among the center-right candidates. Fillon has warm, friendly relations based not on politics, but on sincerity with Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, he also respects the UK. His wife is a citizen of the kingdom.

Future rivals

The strongest contender in the presidential elections will be, of course, the leader of the National Front, Marine Le Pen. Despite the fact that the globalist elite will try to prevent her campaign, Trump’s unexpected victory proved that it is possible to oppose them.
